Overwhelmed? Take ONE step at a Time!

If you are like me, you know that it is WAY too easy to let disorganization and clutter take over the house. It can be down right overwhelming. If you want to get control back, it is important to make a plan on how you will get the house organized again. Walk through the house and make notes of what needs to be done in each room. Once you have a list, make a goal to complete at least one thing off the list each day. Keep the list where you can see it.

Start with small projects, things you can see improvement in quickly. Try organizing a closet. Sort through it and get rid of things you don’t need anymore. You can donate them, get them ready for a yard sale or just throw them away. As you make more room in your closet, think about ways to maximize your storage space. You can add shelves and other closet organizers.

As you move through the list, some projects may take more than a day. Take about 15 minutes to a half an hour a day working on your cleaning “to do” list. Before you know it, you’ve gone through the entire house and organized it. The trick now is to keep it organized.

Each day, keep up on maintaining your newly organized home. The key is to not get into the “I’ll do it later” mindset. Stay focused and keep at it and you WILL have an organized home and life…AND you will be a happier person! While it takes time and a bit of effort, it will be worth it once the house is clean, neat and organized.

It’s that time of the week …ROFL…CLEANING CHALLENGE for the Organizationally Challenged!!

This Week’s Challenge Is:

The dreaded aweful unbelievably NOT fun to clean kitchen! ROFL!!! This will be a fun one…..NOT! LOL!!

This will be a TWO WEEK challenge since there is SOOOO much to do in the kitchen…er…well, at least my kitchen! ROFL! We will check back on November 10ish.

Assignment Breakdown:

Get the science experiments cleaned out of your fridge.

Clean out your spice cabinet, pantry, and any other cabinets in need of attention!

Clean the stove and other appliances thoughouly.

Clean the counters.

Wipe the walls…especially behind the stove!

Sweep and mop the floors.

You could WIN prizes! We will have a drawing every 6 weeks or so. With some surprise never know when drawings

What kind of prizes?

I have all sorts of ideas for prizes…maid service, organizational prizes, spa products to unwind from all the cleaning you will do…LOL, candles, cash, and more!

EMBARRASSMENT Time! Livingroom Challenge – Update! ROFL!

OK, so this is REALLY embarrassing! LOL! You should be ashamed of yourself if you are not participating! ROFL!

MY LIVINGROOM BEFORE AND AFTER:

ACK! What a MESS!

ROFL! Do you notice the “drapes” hanging on the side?? LOL! Those are couch covers that have been there since BEFORE my vacation! AHHHHHHHHHH!

More messies!

YEAH! The “drapes” are gone and where they belong…ON the couches! LOL!

A little blurry, but you get the point…CLEAN!

WHOO HOO! CLEAN Shelves!! WOW! I can’t believe I DID that!

NO covers…and a MESS!

These are the goodies I found under and in the couch! ICK! I will let you use your imagination for the love seat! ROFL!

Ahhh! No junk INSIDE OR OUTSIDE…just clean and nice smelling! (sorry it’s a little dark…I did not feel like retaking and reloading…LOL…I did enough work for one day! LOL!)

Junk on the End Table…ICK was on it under the mess too…BLECH!

Very Nice….I am SO happy!

Ah! How nice. All my hard work has paid off!

OK…I also thought you should see an update from the Office Challenge…as you can see below, I have kept it up pretty well!

Weekly Challenge – REDO

Clean your Living room or family room. Dig out those toys, remotes, and junk from the couches. Vacuum UNDER and BEHIND things. Dust those many dust bunnies that should be paying rent by now! Do a DEEP clean of your living/family room.

The Desk/Office Challenge – RESULTS

OK, so it took me a little longer than I expected to do this challenge. LOL! Wait until you see the MESS I had to clean up! YIKES! I cannot believe I am even going to share it! BUT…I need you to know that this site was created for JUST this! I really AM a WANNABE neat freak! I REALLY WANT a neat environment! I hope you do to…or at least I hope I help..WE help each other get there!

I will post our next challenge Monday to give those of you who procrastinate like me a chance to clean your desk/office!

NOTE: MY HUSBAND IS THRILLED ABOUT THE CLEANILINESS OF MY OFFICE!
